How many egg whites a day?

Egg whites are a great source of protein to START your day, but egg whites alone definitely won't help you build m. I'm 6'4", 220 lbs., and I eat 6 egg whites plus 2 whole eggs every morning (the egg yolks have alot of vitamins and the fat/cholesterol from that little amount won't hurt your diet). Keep in mind that your primary source of proteins to bulk up should come from meat, and that post-workout the best protein is whey (because it will be absorbed the fastest by your muscles...I like Optimum Nutrition tropical punch flavor the best because you can mix it with juices, frozen fruit, honey, etc.). Before bed or later in the day it's good to take in some type of slow-digesting protein (Casein) which can be bought in powder form, or which can be found in most (if not all) dairy products, e.g. cottage cheese, yogurt or skim milk. To a certain degree you can also get protein from nuts, but they are an "incomplete" source, that is, you can't get your daily level of needed protein from just nuts...which means you have to get a good mixture of meat, whey, casein and protein from nuts. If you want to bulk up, you have to eat a good amount of carbs as well, and so for each meal, if you try to get around 40g of proteins, 40g of carbs, and 20g of fats, it will be a good start. For the carbs, try and stick to "slow-digesting" carbs, which are things like wheat bread, wheat pasta, oatmeal, etc., and for the fats (monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, and Omega 3, 6, and 9) try to get them from fish (especially salmon), nuts, and most salad dressings (in the form of polyunsaturated fat). Anywho, hope this helps!!
