Gas pains during pregnancy?

Last night I had stomach pain that hurt extremely bad, so bad it went to my back. I kept checking for bleeding but there wasn`t any. After a while it subsided, and TMI but I noticed I was farting a lot or that one was coming on. Could that of been gas pains? I`m probably going to ER to make sure everything is okay. I`m 6-9 weeks pregnant we believe-earliest I could get DR`s appt is 22nd. Similar stories/experiences appreciated! Thank you.
