Which cat breed should I get? (Siamese or Persian)?

My local pet store has siamese and persian cats. My siamese cat died recently and I got very sad, but Ive accepted it now. However I cant live without a cat. I think Siamese cats are the best cats anyone could get despite what people say about them being sneaky(lady and the tramp) but I dont know if getting another one would remind me of my last cat or if i would feel like i was trying to get a same one to replace my last. but im not because my last cat was so special. im just generally a cat person. i heard persian cats have kidney diseases and that freaked me out very much because my last cat died from that...................................W… breed should I get and why? Also, boy or girl?
