My friend is so embarred do you think this is unfair? how can i comfort her?

my friend who is 12 1/2 always keeps an emergency pad in her purse just in case her "first time" comes along. its no big deal really, but 5 or 6 kids went through her purse when she left it in her homeroom and now she is crying and upset becuz she had foot spray and pads in there ( she had new shoes with that nastee new shoe smell she doesnt usually do that!!!) i feel horrible. isn't that unfair? do you think she should tell a teacher about them doing that? what can i do to comfort her? do you really think its totally horribly embarring?
