Whats some REALLY interesting things in physics?

Im really starting to get into physics, I think alot of its aspects are really interesting. i like the whole paradox thing (strotenger (sp?) experiment), as well as some of the universe creation theory's like the big bang or string theory. I would like to understand more but alot of the things im reading now are a little too complex for me, im taking physics next year but id like to continue reading about it on a beginner level. can anyone suggest some interesting theorys or ideas to read about?
