Mormons, why this ending?
The phrase "In the name of Jesus Christ, amen," signifies that we are ending the prayer in the name of Jesus Christ as it says to do in the Bible. Amen means I agree or all inclusive, so when people say it they are saying they agree with what is being said. (although most people don't know that but say it anyway). When they say it is my prayer... that means they hope that whatever they are talking about will come to p. For example, if a leader is talking about the dangers of drugs and other addictions, he might say he hopes the youth of the church can abstain from these substances and then end with "it is my prayer..."
