Can someone from canada co-sign a car for a person leaving in the us?

I need to pruchase a used car!! But the problem is that I can't find a co-signer for the car. The only person that I found was one of my friends brother which has good credit and he is willing to co-sign for me. I was just wondering if that is possible for someone leaving in Canada to co-sign for anotjher leaving in the USA
